Bakersfield, CA To Savannah, GA

Mid-trip update. Tonight I am staying in Oklahoma City, OK. Last night I stayed in Albuquerque, NM. nothing really exciting until today, driving through Texas, I saw so many trucks on their side I lost track.

I also saw a trailer that was missing a set of wheels. Last night I ate a burrito off the Moreno Catering Truck. The night before I had a nice rack of ribs and a salad. Every thing is bigger in Texas, even a cross. If Jesus comes back 300 feet tall, we have a place for him to "hangout"...

Fernley, NV

I am right outside of Reno, less than 5 hours from delivery. I drove 10.5 hours and churned out 650 miles today. Put 10 bucks in a slot machine and cashed out 16 and some change.

Warmer Wyoming

Started the day off at 0 degrees. I averaged 5.3 MPG because I filled up with winterized fuel last night, there was a strong head wind and I swear I80 west is slightly uphill most of the time. I shaved 660 more miles off the trip and enjoyed a nice double bacon cheeseburger from A&W.

back in Nebraska

Truck stops can become sentimental. I am at the truck stop I had my batteries replaced and I will never forget this place. I am glad I made that decision to replace the batteries that day, most likely I would have paid for a tow or truck service vehicle at a rest area or something if I didn't. it is just as cold but last time there was a wind chill factor of -10. No wind tonight. but it is snowing and I am going to idle the truck tonight so I don't end up with any issues because of the cold.

I got the first oil and fuel filter change today and just filled the fuel tanks. Diesel engines would rather be idled all noght instead of started up when it is 5° outside. I drove 10 hours and totalled 606.6 miles

Going back to Cali

I told my coordinator that I would like to head home. She found me a load to Fremont, CA from Kentucky. This trailer is brand new, first load inside of it is 3 forklifts weighing 40,000 lbs. I am extremely happy and look forward to showing off my truck at home. I get $3700 for this load, it is a little low on the rate scale but I get to go straight home. long runs tend to run a little cheaper than the shorter runs, but you can turn so many miles so quickly that it works out. I am just really happy how things have worked out. So happy, that I bought a Prime Rib Cobb Salad for dinner. I just now realized that I forgot to get the receipt. Now I can't add it to my expense report. Oh well, I guess I am still learning!

1st Oil change bright and early tomorrow. I am unsure on when things were last maintained on the truck so I figured I would put in new oil, fuel and air filters and have the super-duper maintenance package performed by the mechanic while he is at it. I love mt truck and hope it loves me back...

Louisville, Kentucky

I made it. What an adventure that trip was. Everyone I have met here at Mercer has been really helpful and friendly. I am used to drivers complaining about the company, seeing as all these people own their own truck, it is a completely different environment.

Pictures of St. Louis, truck wash, Louisville and parked at MercerTown. They own several blocks here, It's kind of like the Google of Trucking. I am super excited and ready for my head to explode tomorrow from an overload of information.

Missouri flipped cars all day

I lost track of how many freshly rolled cars I saw today. I saw a guys bloody face as he was handing his ID to an officer. There was a band transferring their gear from a flipped van into another van, because, the show like totally must go on, dude. I spent 2 hours parked because the salt truck hit a car and jackknifed across i70.

This truck stop has a theater with horrible movies in it. I got 361 miles to go tomorrow, about 6 hours and I will arrive on schedule. I wonder what adventures I will have tomorrow.
